Event Report: Glasgow Open Data Meet-up

On 2nd June, the Urban Big Data Centre hosted the Glasgow Open Data Meet-up in coordination with the Open Knowledge Foundation. The Meet-up was an opportunity for organisations and community members to share their projects and ideas around open data.

The event featured a presentation from UBDC Scientific Computing Officer, Michael Comerford, on the integrated Multi-Media City Data (iMCD) project. Other speakers included Colin Birchenall from Future Cities Demonstrator/Open Glasgow, Sara Thomas from Museums Galleries Scotland, and Jane Ankori from ALISS (A Local Information System for Scotland)

If you were not able to attend the event, a full recording of the event is available and the Storify (summary of social media activity) is also available.

The UBDC will be hosting future Open Data Meet-ups in Glasgow and will continue to work with partner organisations to advance open data.

We were very pleased to host this forum with members of the public and look forward to producing related events in the future. If you have suggestions on topics to be covered, please email ubdc@glasgow.ac.uk.
