As a Data Scientist, Nikos is responsible for designing and developing Geographic Information System (GIS) and related applications.
Nikos has an MSc in Remote Sensing from Aristotle University and an MSc in Geospatial & Mapping Sciences from Glasgow University. He has worked in GIS-related jobs for more than 7 years, in both the private and public sector. His last post before joining UBDC was GIS Developer with WorldPop Project at the University of Southampton where he designed and implemented a number of solutions.
He is particularly interested in big data and distributed computing and how can they be used to crunch spatial datasets.
